Neurotech's objective is to develop sight-saving therapeutic treatments
for chronic retinal diseases. The Company has technical expertise
in molecular biology, cell culture, device engineering and implantation,
in vitro testing, animal models, cGMP manufacturing and clinical
development.
Neurotech is developing its first product, NT-501, for a variety of retinal degenerative diseases. The company acquired an exclusive license for CNTF, the therapeutic agent administered with NT-501, from Amgen, Inc. Neurotech is developing additional therapeutic factors that it plans to bring into clinical stage development in the next few years.
Marketing Neurotech’s products will involve development and commercial collaborations to maximize the value of the Company’s core product assets. Neurotech will provide best-in-class therapeutics for patients who have retinal disease affecting their vision. Consequently, these products address serious unmet medical needs that represent sizable market opportunities.
The Company is initially focusing its clinical development in the United States and has received Orphan drug status for NT-501 from the FDA for the treatment of RP, thereby affording it a seven year market exclusivity.
Neurotech's business strategy is supported by its large patent portfolio of over 82 issued U.S. patents and 200 allowed international equivalents.
